Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School (PRESEC) has won its eighth trophy at the national science and math quiz in Ghana. They won it again in 2022, making it two times in a row.
NSMQ
The National Science and Maths Quiz is a yearly competition in Ghana for high school students. It's all about science and math questions. The quiz has been happening since 1993 and is organized by a company called Primetime Limited.
The goal of this quiz is to encourage students to be interested in science and math. It helps them think quickly and scientifically about the world around them. It also creates friendly competition between different high schools.
At first, the quiz was sponsored by a company called Unilever, which made a soap called "Brillant Soap." That's why some people call the quiz "Brilla." This quiz brings together students from all over Ghana, and it's one of the longest-running educational programs on Ghanaian television.

Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School, also known as PRESEC, is a boarding school for boys in Legon, Accra, Ghana. It was founded in 1938 by the Presbyterian Church of the Gold Coast. The idea for the school came from Nicholas Timothy Clerk, a missionary-theologian. He pushed for its establishment during his time as the first Synod Clerk of the Presbyterian Church of the Gold Coast. Later, another educationist named E. A. W. Engmann continued to advocate for the school, leading to its founding.
In 1938, the school started with 16 boys and four teachers in Odumase. It has strong connections with its sister schools, Aburi Girls' Senior High School and Krobo Girls Senior High School. PRESEC has a rich history and is an important educational institution in Ghana.
