Clone High

Clone High is an American animated TV show created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence. It first aired on Canadian channel Teletoon's late-night slot The Detour On Teletoon on November 2, 2002.

The series is set in a high school where famous historical figures are cloned as teenagers, featuring characters like adolescent versions of Abe Lincoln, Joan of Arc, Gandhi, Cleopatra, and JFK. It's a satire of teen dramas like Dawson's Creek and Beverly Hills, 90210, with each episode introduced as a "very special episode" by Will Forte's narration.

Lord, Miller, and Lawrence came up with the concept, initially titled Clone High School, USA!, while at Dartmouth College. Although Fox initially declined the show, MTV picked it up and aired it between 2002 and 2003. The animation style is simplistic, focusing more on humor and storytelling.

The theme song was composed by Tommy Walter and performed by his band Abandoned Pools, who also provided much of the background music. Despite mixed reviews initially, Clone High has gained critical acclaim and a dedicated fanbase.

A revival of the series was announced in July 2020, with the original creators returning. HBO Max ordered two seasons, which premiered on May 23, 2023. The second season of the revival, also known as the third season overall, debuted on February 1, 2024.
