William Andrews was an American football player who played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Atlanta Falcons from 1979 to 1986. He was born on December 25, 1955, in Thomasville, Georgia, and attended Thomasville High School, where he played football and was named the Georgia Class AAA Player of the Year in 1974.
After high school, Andrews attended Auburn University, where he played college football for the Auburn Tigers from 1975 to 1978. He was a standout player at Auburn and set several school records, including the career rushing record with 3,831 yards. Andrews was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 1979 NFL Draft and went on to have a successful career with the team.
