A Crashed Ship:

• Start next to a crashed ship on a floating island, either through the Tutorial or by skipping it.

• Collect at least 6 Wood from nearby Wooden Crates.

• Proceed northeast to meet the Cryptomancer and follow the path toward the Doorway. Gather Oak Apples on your way and avoid magical turret enemies.

Returning to the Tower:

• Return to the Tower through the Doorway.

• Establish your respawn point by interacting with the Sout Tether near the gigantic mechanical hand.

• Head northeast to acquire the First Edition book from a pedestal.

• Use the First Edition book to scan objects around the Tower, recording information.

How to Use the First Edition:

• Equip the First Edition using the designated key (e.g., F on PC).

• Scan objects to gather information.

• Right-click while holding the First Edition to read the scanned data.

• Consider upgrading the First Edition at the Research Machina for enhanced scanning capabilities.

Repairing the Wheel:

• Collect the missing Gears located throughout the Tower.

• Restore The Wheel by reattaching the Gears, enabling the reversal of time.

Meeting Hilda:

• Re-enter the world and have a conversation with Hilda.

• Scan Hilda and the Reloading Bench using the First Edition.

• Craft a Worldbuilder Gun, and stock up on bullets at the Loading Bench.

• Collect Resources in the world without a time limit. Recommended minimum resources: 30 Arcane Tome, 120 Wood, 40 Metal Scrap, and 5 Iron Ingot.

Building and Upgrading:

• Return to the Tower, Craft a Worldbuilder Gun, and build a Loading Bench and two Small Chests for resource storage.

• Engage with Hilda to receive a Gear for The Wheel and initiate the timer mechanic.

Rebuilding and Upgrading:

• Begin reconstructing the Tower by crafting benches and upgrading the First Edition.

• Use the collected Resources to upgrade the First Edition twice.

• Take the upgraded First Edition with you during your explorations.

Getting Guns and Gears:

• Re-enter the world and search for Map Altars (stars) indicating enemies holding Gears.

• Scan the Cult of Iron, gain access to gun crafting recipes, and obtain guns from defeated members.

• Note that crafting Guns requires speaking to Young Joshua, an NPC yet to be discovered.

Reliving the Apocalypse:

• Continue your exploration to expand the world, meet new NPCs, and gather Resources for crafting and other purposes.

• Managing Chaos for time extension. While defeating Chaos prolongs your time, it gets tougher as you progress. Opt to revisit earlier areas and seek rifts for a relatively easier way to gain additional time. Spending time searching often results in a net gain. If rifts are scarce within a minute, return to the tower to reset the timer and the world.

Scan Before Attacking: 

• Effective recipe discovery. Scan new enemies for better gear recipes. Maintain a safe distance to scan first, and if needed, engage in combat. Alternatively, charm enemies to divert their aggression, allowing unhindered scanning.

Telescopes: 

• Optimizing time efficiency. In the shatter, your time is limited. To maximize your time, prioritize finding telescopes, which pinpoint your next objective, be it the next telescope, a Chaos rift, a gate back to the tower, or the enemy holding the time gear. Avoid aimless wandering, as time is precious.

Catch More Bees with Honey: 

• Leveraging charm bullets. Upgrade your charm bullet to create a necromancer-lite build. A stronger ally assists in defeating enemies quickly and diverts their aggro. This enables safer scanning and shooting without personal risk.

Boss Rooms:

• Tactical preparation. Assess the boss room when you enter; the chaos timer halts, and the boss won't attack until provoked. Use this time wisely to eliminate environmental hazards, equip the right weapon, and ensure you're at full health before commencing the fight.
