Kang Young-hyun, professionally known as Young K, is a prominent South Korean musician, singer, songwriter, and rapper. He gained fame as the bassist and vocalist for the popular South Korean pop rock band Day6. Born on December 19, 1993, in Goyang, South Korea, Young K spent his formative years in Ilsan, South Korea, before relocating to Toronto, Canada, for middle and high school at York Mills Collegiate Institute.
During this period, he adopted the name Brian Kang and pursued his passion for music. In 2010, he caught the attention of JYP Entertainment and became a trainee. His journey in the entertainment industry took shape as he participated in various music endeavors. Eventually, in 2015, he made his debut with Day6, releasing their EP "The Day" and the hit single "Congratulations." Young K's involvement extended beyond performance, as he contributed significantly to Day6's songwriting.
