In the game Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are a total of 18 Memory Locations that you need to find to achieve 100% Completion. Six of these memories are obtained automatically through mandatory main story quests (Memories 01, 02, 11, 14, 16, 18).
The remaining 12 memories are part of an optional main questline called "Impa and the Geoglyphs > The Dragon's Tears." To complete this questline, you must collect 12 Tears of the Dragon, with each tear revealing a Memory.

How to Get First Memory in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?
To obtain Memory 1 in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you need to embark on the crucial quest called "Recovering the Hero's Sword," which involves obtaining Master Sword. Although the game doesn't provide explicit clues, players familiar with Breath of the Wild can head to Korok Forest as a starting point. To reach Korok Forest, you must approach it through the Depths, located near the entrance of the Lost Woods.
Once you find the small chasm near the Lost Woods entrance, navigate through it to reach the Depths. As you progress along the path, be prepared to face enemies lurking underground and the presence of Gloom. Keep an eye out for a Gloom Spawn near your destination, and if you feel confident in your abilities, engage in battle. It's important to note that defeating a Gloom Spawn will trigger a confrontation with a version of Phantom Ganon.
If you prefer to skip this fight, proceed directly to an underground structure that aligns with the Korok Forest on the surface. Utilize your Ascend ability to reach Korok Forest. As you enter, you'll notice that the forest has been consumed by Gloom. Enter the Great Deku Tree, where you'll find another chasm leading to a lower area.
Within this lower area, you'll encounter another Gloom Spawn and, subsequently, another Phantom Ganon. Defeating this Phantom Ganon will be the final step to unlocking Memory 1 in Tears of the Kingdom. Dodge his attacks and maintain a safe distance, as he will spread Gloom across the floor. Utilize your Flurry Rush ability by executing Perfect Dodges to deal significant damage. With perseverance, you will eventually defeat him. Once victorious, return to the surface and speak with the Great Deku Tree.
Upon conversing with the Great Deku Tree, he will inquire about the absence of the Master Sword in your possession. This interaction will trigger Memory 1, where Zelda and Link arrive at Korok Forest to retrieve Master Sword once again. The Great Deku Tree will then mark the location of the Master Sword on your map, indicating that it can be found on the Light Dragon.
